Visiting Videographer to Shoot Footage for Oak Ridge Chamber Project Beginning this Week

Tuesday May 19, 2009
Devin Miller with CommunityLink to Shoot Video

Devin Miller, a photographer and videographer with Craig Williams Creative will be in Oak Ridge beginning this weekend, May 15, to shoot video for the Oak Ridge Chamber of Commerce's new TownCast project. TownCast is an online video product which will capture "man on the street" interviews with residents in Oak Ridge to record the unique things that make Oak Ridge a wonderful place to live.

Later this summer, the TownCast link and videos will be accessible via the Chamber's website and other community websites.  It will be another tool to promote residency in Oak Ridge. TownCast is the latest installment in an upscale, multi-media collection of resident recruitment tools. Solid as Oak, the award-winning interactive portfolio and Ridges magazine are additional tools in the collection.

"This is an exciting project for us and for Oak Ridge," said Greta Ownby, Executive Vice President of the Oak Ridge Chamber. "Devin is an outstanding photographer/videographer and we're looking forward to having his work as a part of our new collection. He has been to Oak Ridge before and many residents will recognize him. We know the community will welcome him in the next couple of weeks and will be willing subjects for him during this visit as well."

When the TownCast element of the Chamber's website goes live there will be opportunity for residents to post their own videos about their activities and thoughts about Oak Ridge.  According to Ownby, "This unique option is patterned after the very popular YouTube site.  Called "Shout it Proud" Oak Ridgers can upload their videos of sporting events, recitals, concerts - whatever they'd like that communicates to the world why Oak Ridge is a special place to work, live and raise a family."

Miller will provide release forms for individuals who participate. Parents will need to sign forms for children under the age of 18.

The Oak Ridge Chamber of Commerce is Four-Star Accredited Chamber of Commerce and a 2008 ACCE Chamber of the Year finalist.
